Established in 1943, and purchased in 2016 by Dr. Jeremy Welsh, Shaker Heights Animal Hospital has provided quality veterinary care to the greater Cleveland area for decades.  We are proud to be an independently and locally owned and operated hospital.

As time changes the face of a city, it also changes the philosophies and perspectives of individuals. New discoveries and advancements in veterinary medicine have affected our four-legged family members. With advancements in diagnostic technology, preventive care, treatments and client education, we have the ability to provide a longer, healthier life for your pets. Our doctors understand the role all these components play in ensuring you and your pet live the best life possible together and we continue to grow and evolve as a progressive, Fear Free Certified, veterinary hospital.

Shaker Heights Animal Hospital is located in a newly renovated hospital located in the heart of Shaker Heights commercial district, 3505 Lee Road. We are humbled by the support of the community on this endeavor and are looking forward to expanding our team and community reach.

We welcome new clients and thank you for your confidence in our ability to care for your four-legged family members. We’re pleased to offer online booking for both new and existing clients through the PetDesk app and on our website via the PetDesk widget.

Payment Policy

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, check, debit card, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Care Credit. Please note that credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee. 

New Clients establishing care are required to place a $78 deposit for their first appointment.  This deposit will be credited towards the invoice at the time of appointment. A “no show” appointment, not cancelled with 24-hour notice, will not be refunded the deposit. Thank you for your understanding.

Helping pets and pet owners throughout Shaker Heights and the greater Cleveland communities has always been a closely held value of Shaker Heights Animal Hospital. We support the Feral Friends of Shaker, Geauga Humane Society–Rescue Village, Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL), Euclid Beach Cat Project, Paws for the Homeless, and Pilot Dogs and Guiding Eyes. Through our involvement with these wonderful organizations, we can educate new pet owners, care for their newly adopted family members and help families going through difficult times.
